Faith
I listened to this sermon the other day and was inspired. I thought it would be good for us all to listen to.
Below are some notes I took as I listened.
“Believe that is so, when it is not so, because God said so, so it can be so.” – Manley Beasley
Faith is constructed with conviction.
- We put our faith in God and His word
- Mountains are obstacles
- Are you moving mountains or being toppled by them
- There is more of God to have
- You have as much of God as you want
Faith is realized through confession
- There is great power in our tongue.
- Confession tells people what you believe inwardly.
- What undercuts confession – doubt.
- “I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.” – Mark 11:23 NLT
- Possible vs impossible
- There is one category for our God – all things are possible.
- You confess what you possess.
- Your internal dialogue affects what you believe.
- (this may be another level of taking thoughts captive – defeated > remember we are more than conquerers)
- You quote the word of God to yourself.
- Don’t let doubt dictate your life.
- It isn’t positive talk that overcomes doubt but the promises of God.
- The confession of a Christian is kryptonite to doubt.
Faith is lived out by appropriation
- Jesus died for the sins of the world 1 John 2:2.
- Col 2:15
- Mark 11:24
- Act as if you have already received it.
- Believe that you got it and you will get it.
Unbelief is our biggest barrier – we really don’t believe God.
Get a word from God and stand on it.
Simple steps of faith release God’s supernatural power in the future.
Start believing God for big things.
