Possessing the Land
Journey Into The Promised Land
When The Odds Are Stacked Against You – 12/08
When Gideon and his men had received complete assurance of God’s presence, the Lord did one more thing to be sure they would rely on Him alone. He reduced the size of their army to three-hundred men (Judges 7:1-7). Then…
…they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled. And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the Lord set every man’s sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath. And the men of Israel gathered themselves together out of Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued after the Midianites.” (Judges 7:21-23)
Gideon went to battle against the massive army of Midian with only three-hundred men! Only a man convinced of the presence of God could do that. Instead of asking for proof, Gideon was now producing the proof!
How did Gideon change from fear to faith, hiding to advancing? Where did he get this kind of boldness? Gideon had experienced the manifested presence of God.
…God had changed Gideon from a frightened young man to one who had so much courage that he was not afraid to fight the innumerable enemy with only a few hundred men.
…And these few hundred men had so much confidence in Gideon that they were willing to fight alongside him against overwhelming odds because they sensed the presence of God upon his life.
God’s presence will empower you to march into battle against every foe…
…The stronghold of the enemy will be destroyed!
…Financial problems will be eliminated!
…Sickness and disease will be conquered!
…Family problems will be solved!
The enemy cannot stand against the presence of God!
The odds were so stacked against Gideon and his troops that there was no way they could win unless God was with them. In the end, however, an awesome victory was won by Gideon and his three hundred men.
Make this declaration:
The odds may be stacked against me, but every stronghold of the enemy will be destroyed because God is with me.
