Putting The Enemy Under Your Feet

Journey Into The Promised Land

Job 42:1–7 (CSB)

JOB REPLIES TO THE LORD

42 Then Job replied to the Lord:

I know that you can do anything

and no plan of yours can be thwarted.

You asked, “Who is this who conceals my counsel with ignorance?”

Surely I spoke about things I did not understand,

things too wondrous for me to know.

You said, “Listen now, and I will speak.

When I question you, you will inform me.”

I had heard reports about you,

but now my eyes have seen you.

Therefore, I reject my words and am sorry for them;

I am dust and ashes.,

After the Lord had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends, for you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.

Executing Total Victory

Job, stripped of his possessions, suffering in agonizing pain, forsaken by his family and friends, got caught up in a cycle of defeat. He became weary and fainted in his mind. He lost all hope. He was unable to feel the presence of God and felt as if God had forsaken him. He cursed the day he was born (Job 3:3). He was filled with unbelief (Job 9:16-17). He unjustly accused God of oppressing him and favoring the schemes of the wicked (Job 10:1-3). He condemned God for His actions to justify himself (Job 40:8).

Job got his eyes on his circumstances until he became so discouraged and depressed that he wanted to die. He remained in this cycle of defeat until God dealt with him concerning his accusations and he repented. God healed him and restored double what Satan had taken from him! He used all the circumstances Satan had used to defeat Job to bless him.

And the Lord turned the captivity of Job and restored his fortunes, when he prayed for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. (Job 42:10, TAB)

Job’s family returned and comforted him and the “Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than at his beginning” (Job 42:12, TAB). Satan used every circumstance possible to attack and destroy job, but he couldn’t do it!

Regardless of the circumstances Satan may bring into your life to defeat you, God has provided victory. You can face every trial, circumstance, and problem without fear knowing:

  1. God’s ultimate purpose is to do you good.
  2. God is in control of all your circumstances.
  3. God places a limit upon the circumstances Satan can bring into your life.
  4. With every circumstance comes the provision for total victory.

God is going to have a strong people — a people whose faith has been tested and tried, as gold is tried in a furnace. He is going to have a people who are able to stand firm regardless of the circumstances Satan uses to defeat them. He is going to have a people, like Job, who will be able to say in the midst of their fiery trials, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him” (Job 13:15).

Today, he is raising up a people who are strong, mighty, and invincible! These are people who, like Israel, can put their feet upon the neck of their enemies and execute total victory. And YOU are one of those people!

Make this declaration:

God’s ultimate purpose is to do me good. He is in control of all my circumstances and places a limit upon what Satan can bring into my life. With every circumstance I face comes the provision for total victory.
