Overcoming Obstacles
Journey Into The Promised Land
Focus On God
In order to conquer fear you must first, recognize it for what it is; second, identify the fears that have gained a stronghold in your mind and deal with them in the spirit by casting them out in Jesus’ Name; and third, resist every attempt of Satan to fill your mind with fear.
Now here is the fourth powerful strategy against fear:
Strategy number four: You must get your eyes focused upon God and release your trust in Him. What are the fears you are facing? Fear of sickness? Fear of not having sufficient income to meet your family’s needs? Fear of failure? Fear of danger? Fear of becoming homeless? Fear of growing old? Fear of losing your job? Fear of death?
God has entered into a covenant with you. He has given you promises which provide for all your needs. He has promised to deliver you out of the hands of all your enemies, to protect you, heal your body, strengthen you, and supply all your needs.
The fearlessness God wants you to have is based upon your faith and trust in Him and His faithfulness to His promises to you. As you release your faith and trust God to fulfill His promises, there is no fear! You are covered and protected by His mighty hand. God has said, “I have put My words in your mouth and: have covered you in the shadow of My hand…” (Isaiah 51:16, TAB). He has promised never to leave you, to fight for you, to go with you through the waters of adversity and fiery tribulation and give you victory over all your enemies. God has promised:
“…I will not in any way fail or give you up nor leave you without support. (I will) not, (I will) not, (I will) not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let (you) down, (relax My hold on you) Assuredly not!” (Hebrews 13:5, TAB).
As a result of this promise, you can boldly and fearlessly say:
“The Lord is my Helper, I will not be seized with alarm — I will not fear or dread or be terrified. What can man do to me?.” (Hebrews 13:6, TAB)
When fear of any kind attacks your mind, you must reject it and use your trust in God as a mighty weapon to destroy fear. King David, a powerful, fearless warrior who faced many dangerous situations and formidable enemies said: “I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me” (Psalm 3:6). He said: “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do unto me?” (Psalm 118:6).
The key to his fearlessness was not based upon the fact that he was never afraid. There were times he was fearful, but in those times as an act of his will he learned to reject fear and trust God. Focus on God today and release your trust in Him.
Make this declaration:
God has not given me a spirit of fear, so I will not fear! I will reject fear and release my trust in God!
