Overcoming Obstacles
Journey Into The Promised Land
God Will Direct You
If you are to eliminate confusion you must first, reject every trace of confusion and act on God’s promises and, second, wait upon God and draw upon His wisdom. Here is the next strategy for confronting the obstacle of confusion:
Strategy number three: Reject Satan’s lies and act on the truth. In the circumstances you face, Satan’s strategy is to feed you misinformation — lies. His objective is to keep you from knowing and acting upon the truth. If you do not know the truth, it is easy to be sidetracked and led into rebellion against God.
Jesus told His disciples, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed, and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:31-32). It is knowing the truth that will set you free and enable you to break through any confusion in your mind. The truth will drive out Satan’s lies, set your mind free, and enable you to be victorious over all the power of the enemy.
In the circumstances you are facing, don’t listen to Satan’s lies. Reject them. Satan is the father of lies and there is absolutely no truth in him. “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). Use the truth of God’s Word to resist him and drive his lies out of your mind. Regardless of how impossible, how bleak, or how discouraging the circumstances are, you will not become confused or afraid when your mind is filled with truth and you are acting on it.
Saturate your mind with the Word until it is part of your being, where every aspect of your mind is not only filled with the Word, but renewed and controlled by it. The truth will set you free from confusion!
Strategy number four: Act knowing you have heard from God. If ever there was a time when we need to hear the voice of God clearly, it is today. As we face the challenges and opportunities God has placed before us in the days ahead, we must be able to hear God’s voice clearly and distinctly. There can be no confusion in our minds concerning what we are to do. We must know. We must hear from God!
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to take one step or make one plan until I have waited before the Lord and have heard His voice. God never intended His people to flounder around or grope in the dark to know His direction and leading. He has planned for you to come into His presence and wait upon Him until you hear His voice clearly. He has planned for you to seek Him and draw upon His wisdom. As you come before Him in seasons of prayer, He will direct you. You will hear His voice and you will know the way you are to go.
You have God’s promise that He will direct you: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Make this declaration:
I reject Satan’s lies. I will act upon the truth today, knowing I have heard from God.
