Putting The Enemy Under Your Feet

Journey Into The Promised Land

Psalm 125:1–5 (CSB)

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion.

It cannot be shaken; it remains forever.

The mountains surround Jerusalem

and the Lord surrounds his people,

both now and forever.

The scepter of the wicked will not remain

over the land allotted to the righteous,

so that the righteous will not apply their hands to injustice.

Do what is good, Lord, to the good,

to those whose hearts are upright.

But as for those who turn aside to crooked ways,

the Lord will banish them with the evildoers.

Peace be with Israel.

Protected By God

We belong to God. He has purchased us with the blood of His only Son, Jesus Christ. We have been transferred out of Satan’s kingdom of darkness into the glorious Kingdom of God. He has cleansed us, placed His Spirit within us, and has bestowed upon us His glory — all that He has and is.

God has entered into a powerful covenant relationship with us where He has provided that all our needs will be met. He has made an everlasting covenant with us that cannot be broken and is forever sealed with the precious blood of Jesus. He has promised, “I will not turn away from them, to do them good. I will rejoice over them to do them good.” …I am going to bring on them all the good that I am promising them” (Jeremiah 32:40-42, NAS).

God has placed a hedge of protection around us and all that belongs to us, just as He did for his servant, Job. Without God’s permission, nothing can penetrate it! God has promised:

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore. (Psalm 125:1-2, NIV)

He has promised to be a “wall of fire” around us (Zechariah 2:5).
He is our defense! (Psalm 5:11). He is our fortress! (Psalm 18:2).
He is our hiding place! (Psalm 27:5-6). He is our refuge! (Psalm 91:2).
He is our shield! (Psalm 5:12).
Do you have any idea what this means for you as child of God?

God has given you salvation, healing, and spiritual riches in Christ Jesus. He has promised to prosper the work of your hands. His blessings are upon all that you have — your houses, lands, cars, children — all your possessions.

God has placed an invisible spiritual shield around you to protect and shield you from all harm! Everywhere you go — out on the busy freeway, in an airplane, on the subway, or at home — you are shielded and protected by Almighty God.

Make this declaration:

God has promised to be a wall of fire around me. He is my defense, my fortress, my hiding place, my refuge, and my shield.
