Journey Into The Promised Land

Deuteronomy 8:11–18 (CSB)

11 “Be careful that you don’t forget the Lord your God by failing to keep his commands, ordinances, and statutes that I am giving you today. 12 When you eat and are full, and build beautiful houses to live in, 13 and your herds and flocks grow large, and your silver and gold multiply, and everything else you have increases, 14 be careful that your heart doesn’t become proud and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the place of slavery. 15 He led you through the great and terrible wilderness with its poisonous snakes and scorpions, a thirsty land where there was no water. He brought water out of the flint rock for you. 16 He fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your ancestors had not known, in order to humble and test you, so that in the end he might cause you to prosper. 17 You may say to yourself, ‘My power and my own ability have gained this wealth for me,’ 18 but remember that the Lord your God gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to confirm his covenant he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

Remember God’s Promises

God told Israel

And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. (Deuteronomy 8:2)

The spirit of remembrance needs to be impregnated into your being. When Israel forgot what God did for them, they stopped worshiping at the altars. When they thought that the blessings they received were at their own hands, they stopped tithing which is a remembrance of what God has given to us. When you stop tithing, you forget that it is God Who has blessed you and that you are not your own source.

Israel was reminded that God led them through the wilderness. He preserved them despite fiery serpents, scorpions, and drought where there was no water. He fed them with manna. When they enter the Promised Land, God warns them:

But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. (Deuteronomy 8:18)

Satan’s strategy is to try to get you to forget the promises of God, to forget that God always does what He says He is going to do!

During this month, we are going to break the cycle of Satan’s financial defeat over your life from now until Jesus comes, and one of the key strategies we will use to defeat the devil is to remember the promises and the actions of God!

You can no longer accept Satan’s lie that “You were born to be poor” when you remember that it is God Himself Who gives you the power to get wealth! It is time for you to tell the devil, “Satan, from this day forward you have no right to touch my finances.”

The Word of God says that you need to get violent. Inside your spirit, say “I am going to let God raise the level of my faith to where I am going to understand and comprehend once and for all His covenant of blessing for me. By the grace of God, nothing is going to hold me back. I am going to get violent. I am drawing that line and I am saying, “Devil, you stick your ugly head up. I dare you. Raise your head against me. I dare you. Lift your hand against me. I dare you. Lift your hand against my family. I dare you. Lift your hand against my body. Lift your hand against my ministry. Lift your hand against my finances.” You have got to get violent!

Make this declaration:

I will be spiritually violent! Satan will not control my finances, those of my family, or those of my ministry.
