Penetrating Enemy Lines

Journey Into The Promised Land

Hebrews 12:1–3 (CSB)

THE CALL TO ENDURANCE

12 Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

FATHERLY DISCIPLINE

For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so that you won’t grow weary and give up.

Seven Simple Keys

Today and tomorrow, I want to give you seven simple keys that will help you break out of the cycle of defeat in your life — in your finances, your family relationships, your body, and in every area of your life — and begin to live in a cycle of victory:

1. Replace stress with peace. When Satan attacks in your circumstances, instead of being filled with stress, set your mind on God and His faithfulness, and allow Christ’s peace to guard your heart and mind:

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind (both its inclination and its character) stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You and hopes confidently in You. (Isaiah 26:3, TAB)

2. Rejoice. James said to count it all joy when you encounter trials and temptations (James 1:2). Peter said:

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (1 Peter 4:12-13)

Regardless of whether or not you feel like praising God, offer up sacrifices of praise — not for the circumstances Satan has brought into your life, but because you know He is with you and using your circumstances for your good.

3. Take your eyes off your circumstances and fix them on Jesus and the Word.

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us . Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (Hebrews 12:1-3)

4. Resist Satan. God has provided victory in every circumstance you face, but it is not automatic. God would not have provided us with His armor to protect us and have given us powerful weapons to take authority over Satan if He had not planned for us to fight. God does not want you to sit back and allow Satan to run all over you. You must pick up your weapons and go to battle. The moment Satan attacks your mind with fear, worry, and doubt, cast it out in the Name of Jesus. Bind him from working in your circumstances.

Make this declaration:

Stress is being replaced in my life with peace as I take my eyes off of my circumstances, resist Satan, and rejoice in the Lord.
