Marching Into Your Divine Destiny

Journey Into The Promised Land

Isaiah 6:1–13 (CSB)

ISAIAH’S CALL AND MISSION

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne, and the hem of his robe filled the temple. Seraphim were standing above him; they each had six wings: with two they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. And one called to another:

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Armies;
his glory fills the whole earth.

The foundations of the doorways shook at the sound of their voices, and the temple was filled with smoke.

Then I said:
Woe is me for I am ruined
because I am a man of unclean lips
and live among a people of unclean lips,
and because my eyes have seen the King,
the Lord of Armies.

Then one of the seraphim flew to me, and in his hand was a glowing coal that he had taken from the altar with tongs. He touched my mouth with it and said:

Now that this has touched your lips,
your iniquity is removed
and your sin is atoned for.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord asking:
Who will I send?
Who will go for us?

I said:
Here I am. Send me.

And he replied:
Go! Say to these people:
Keep listening, but do not understand;
keep looking, but do not perceive.
10 Make the minds of these people dull;
deafen their ears and blind their eyes;
otherwise they might see with their eyes
and hear with their ears,
understand with their minds,
turn back, and be healed.

11 Then I said, “Until when, Lord?” And he replied:

Until cities lie in ruins without inhabitants,
houses are without people,
the land is ruined and desolate,
12 and the Lord drives the people far away,
leaving great emptiness in the land.
13 Though a tenth will remain in the land,
it will be burned again.
Like the terebinth or the oak
that leaves a stump when felled,
the holy seed is the stump.

Rekindling The Fear

The fear of God has gone out of His house. There are approximately four hundred references in the Bible concerning the fear of God, yet how many pastors, teachers and evangelists are there today who are teaching and warning people to live their lives in the fear of God? How many sermons do you hear from holy men of God concerning the wrath and judgment of God that is coming upon the earth? Not very many.

Do you want to know why? Because people don’t want to hear it. They don’t want to hear about crucifying the flesh, self-denial, or holiness. When they hear preaching under the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit that exposes the disobedience and sin in their lives, they say the person is preaching legalism or condemnation upon them. They would rather hear how to be successful and prosperous and enjoy the blessings of God. They would rather hear something that would allow them to live their lives following after their own wills, living their lives to please their selfish desires, fulfilling the lusts of their flesh.

There are many Christians today who are walking in disobedience to God and His Word. The fear of God is missing. They are afraid to live their lives according to what God has revealed to them in the Word because they fear what other people will think of them. They are afraid people will think they are foolish or fanatic.

There are Christians to whom God has spoken to step out into some area of ministry, but they have rebelled and are walking in disobedience because they are afraid of what their friends or family will say.

When God speaks to you — regardless of how insignificant it may seem, regardless of how foolish it may sound, regardless of the consequences and how impossible it may seem — do it in the fear of the Lord.

Because the nation of Israel did not have a heart that feared God, they disobeyed and forfeited their inheritance. They were defeated and destroyed. God’s people today need to rekindle the fear of God in their hearts. We need to have a fresh revelation of God in all His holiness as Isaiah did when he fell on his face before God and said, “Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips” (Isaiah 6:5). Once we see Him in the beauty and greatness of His holiness, the fear of God will be rekindled in our hearts, motivating us to walk in love and one-hundred percent obedience to Him all the days of our lives.

Make this declaration:

When God speaks to me — regardless of how insignificant it may seem, regardless of how foolish it may sound, regardless of the consequences and how impossible it may seem — I will do it in the fear of the Lord.
