Winning the Battle for Your Mind

Journey Into The Promised Land

Ephesians 1:1–23 (CSB)

GREETING

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God’s will:

To the faithful saints in Christ Jesus at Ephesus.,

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

GOD’S RICH BLESSINGS

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ. For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him., He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace that he lavished on us in the Beloved One.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he richly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding. He made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he purposed in Christ 10 as a plan for the right time—to bring everything together in Christ, both things in heaven and things on earth in him.

11 In him we have also received an inheritance, because we were predestined according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will, 12 so that we who had already put our hope in Christ might bring praise to his glory.

13 In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed. 14 The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL INSIGHT

15 This is why, since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 I never stop giving thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers. 17 I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you the Spirit, of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the mighty working of his strength.

GOD’S POWER IN CHRIST

20 He exercised this power in Christ by raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens—21 far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given,, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he subjected everything under his feet, and appointed him as head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.

You Can Have A Strong Mind

The reason the majority of Christians today are not walking in this dimension of power and victory is because they have not had a revelation of the powerful, one-hundred per cent victorious mind God has made possible for us to have. Many Christians are bound by limitations they have set in their minds. They do not think it is possible for them to have a totally hundred percent victorious mind. They have settled for less than what God has made possible for us to have.

God wants you to have the powerful, victorious mind of Christ in operation in your life. Paul told the Corinthians, “But we have the mind of Christ, the Messiah, and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart” (1 Corinthians 2:16, TAB). God has planned that we be transformed into Christ’s image (Romans 8:29) and this transformation takes place by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2 and 2 Corinthians 3:18).

As we fill our minds with the Word and a knowledge of Christ, we are constantly changed and transformed into His image. As our minds, thoughts, wills, emotions, desires, and purposes are renewed, we become governed by the Holy Spirit and begin to manifest Christ’s life.

Paul told the Ephesians to be constantly renewed in the spirit of their minds (Ephesians 4:23-24). God has planned that our minds be filled with revelation knowledge so that we will be able to know and understand the riches of our inheritance and the power we possess as children of God.

Paul prayed that God would give the Ephesians the spirit of revelation in the knowledge of Christ, “That the God Of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him” (Ephesians 1: 17). How? “By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light…” Why?

…so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints — His set-apart ones. And (so that you can know and understand) what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength. (Ephesians 1:18-19, TAB)

God has planned that we have a strong mind with the ability to control every thought, imagination, desire, and emotion, and — through the spiritual weapons He has given us — bring them into obedience to Christ and conformity to the will of God. Don’t settle for anything less.

Make this declaration:

God has planned that I have a strong mind with the ability to control every thought, imagination, desire, and emotion. Through the spiritual weapons He has given me, my mind will come into conformity to the will of God.
