Accessing Divine Provision

Journey Into The Promised Land

1 Kings 3:3–13 (CSB)

Solomon loved the Lord by walking in the statutes of his father David, but he also sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

The king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there because it was the most famous high place. He offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream at night. God said, “Ask. What should I give you?”

And Solomon replied, “You have shown great and faithful love to your servant, my father David, because he walked before you in faithfulness, righteousness, and integrity. You have continued this great and faithful love for him by giving him a son to sit on his throne, as it is today.

“Lord my God, you have now made your servant king in my father David’s place. Yet I am just a youth with no experience in leadership., Your servant is among your people you have chosen, a people too many to be numbered or counted. So give your servant a receptive heart to judge your people and to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of yours?”

10 Now it pleased the Lord that Solomon had requested this. 11 So God said to him, “Because you have requested this and did not ask for long life or riches for yourself, or the death of your enemies, but you asked discernment for yourself to administer justice, 12 I will therefore do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has never been anyone like you before and never will be again. 13 In addition, I will give you what you did not ask for: both riches and honor, so that no king will be your equal during your entire life.

True Prosperity

When you seek first God’s Kingdom, you will become a candidate for the last great wealth transfer!

  • When you can’t see light at the end of your financial tunnel, seek first the Kingdom of God!
  • When you can’t give to God the way you desire, seek first His Kingdom!
  • When King Solomon asked for wisdom instead of riches, he received what he asked for, but God had even greater things in mind for him:

And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies. . .I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. (1 Kings 3:10-13)

God was so pleased that Solomon put the kingdom before any personal desires that He gave him all the things that most men would have asked for instead of wisdom. In fact, God gave Solomon so much wealth that no king before or since has ever been able to match the splendor of his kingdom.

How would you like to receive a blessing from God unlike any blessing you have ever received? You would not struggle to get it. God will command the blessing. It will literally overtake you supernaturally.

God told me in prophecy that His blessings are going to literally come upon His people, run after them, and overtake them. They are not going to have to struggle to reach up and get anything that God has promised because it will run after them!

Yet promises are always dependant upon obedience. God is looking for people who will be obedient to Him, walk in covenant relationship, and put His program and His kingdom ahead of their own selfish desires.

Prosperity is not the accumulation of wealth or material things of this world, such as expensive cars, luxury homes, jewels, and designer clothes. That is the world’s concept of prosperity. True prosperity is the abundance of God’s blessing, both spiritual and temporal. It is total provision, continual supply, and you can only enter in to receive it as you walk in covenant relationship with God.

Make this declaration:

I reject the worldly view of prosperity. I receive true prosperity from God — His blessing upon my life in both spiritual and temporal areas.
