Winning the Battle for Your Mind

Journey Into The Promised Land

Psalm 98:1–9 (CSB)

Sing a new song to the Lord,

for he has performed wonders;

his right hand and holy arm

have won him victory.

The Lord has made his victory known;

he has revealed his righteousness

in the sight of the nations.

He has remembered his love

and faithfulness to the house of Israel;

all the ends of the earth

have seen our God’s victory.

Let the whole earth shout to the Lord;

be jubilant, shout for joy, and sing.

Sing to the Lord with the lyre,

with the lyre and melodious song.

With trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn

shout triumphantly

in the presence of the Lord, our King.

Let the sea and all that fills it,

the world and those who live in it, resound.

Let the rivers clap their hands;

let the mountains shout together for joy

before the Lord,

for he is coming to judge the earth.

He will judge the world righteously

and the peoples fairly.

Preparing To Fight

God is calling the Church to prepare for battle. Satan is intensifying his attacks against God’s people. To go out to battle without first activating and preparing your mind for the fight is like soldiers going out onto the battlefield without their weapons, unprepared to fight.

Before an army engages the enemy in battle, there must be a time of preparation. The weapons, tanks, and aircrafts, are checked to see if they are in good condition. The Commander-In-Chief and other officers meet to plan their battle strategies. The soldiers go through all sorts of maneuvers simulating and acting out the strategies they are going to use during battle. The army is placed on alert. They are prepared, physically, and mentally to confront and fight the enemy until the war is won.

As you face Satan’s attacks on your mind, you must be prepared to fight and win the war. You must not be fearful or weak when the enemy attacks you. You must not be surprised, hide, feel sorry for yourself, whine, complain, or wonder why you are being attacked. We are on red alert! We have been warned about Satan’s strategies. You must be spiritually and mentally prepared to fight and withstand Satan and his forces until victory is yours.

Paul told the Corinthians: “Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong” (1 Corinthians 16:13, NAS). He told the Ephesians: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” (Ephesians 6:10).

When you go out to battle, you must be strong and face the enemy not, in your own strength, but in the power of Almighty God. You are going out to fight and win the war against Satan in the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead (Ephesians 1:19-20). There is no room for defeat!

You must strengthen your mind for battle and prepare to fight, knowing that He is sending you forth in His strength, in the power of a strong, victorious mind. Paul said: “Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day (of danger), and having done all (the crisis demands), to stand (firmly in your place)” (Ephesians 6:13, TAB).

A new strength is coming into God’s people — into their hearts and minds, into their innermost beings. Receive this promise, by faith, and be strengthened in your mind. Be strong and move forward to take possession of the one-hundred percent victorious mind God has made possible for you to have.

Make this declaration:

I will be alert. I will stand firm and be strong. I will stand victorious in the day of trouble.
