Fulfilling Your Destiny

Journey Into The Promised Land

1 John 3:1–8 (CSB)

See what great love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children—and we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know him. Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when he appears, we will be like him because we will see him as he is. And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself just as he is pure.

Everyone who commits sin practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. You know that he was revealed so that he might take away sins,, and there is no sin in him. Everyone who remains in him does not sin;, everyone who sins has not seen him or known him.

Little children, let no one deceive you. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the devil’s works.

The Work Is Done

How did the woman with the issue of blood know that what she heard was the message of truth? There was a confirmation of the Word. There was performance of the Word! The Bible declares that in the mouth of two witnesses every word is established. She had the witness of the Spirit within her, she had the witness of the spoken Word and witness of the living Word, Jesus Christ.

The Apostle John said: “There is the message God has given us to pass on to you: That God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” John further elaborated on the message when he said: “The Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).

Jesus came to earth for a purpose! When we, like this woman, understand what that purpose is through the message of God’s Word, then we are on the road to deliverance. We are on the road to victory. We are on the way to having our impossibilities made possible.

The message this woman received was that Jesus came for a purpose. He came into this world and allowed Himself to be beaten, scourged, persecuted, spit upon, and nailed to a cross so she could be free! You don’t have to remain one more moment living in sin and despair, without peace, love, and a meaningful life. You don’t have to keep that deaf ear or live with that bad back, rheumatism, arthritis, cancer, or physical or emotional pain. You don’t have to be bound by any of these one moment longer. The price has been paid for your deliverance: “By whose stripes ye were healed” (1 Peter 2:24).

Doctors tell us there are thirty-nine major sicknesses in the world. From these thirty-nine major diseases come all the other illnesses. Jesus Christ was whipped with thirty-nine stripes across His back. If I may be so free as to spiritualize, I would say one stripe for every sickness — for deafness, cancer, arthritis — whatever affliction you suffer, Jesus took it upon Himself!

The work is done! Jesus paid the price 2,000 years ago. Our sins and sicknesses were (not shall be) were, were, healed! If Christ paid the price, then we don’t have to pay it.

We are free!

We do not have to bear our sins one moment longer.

We do not have to bear our sickness one moment longer.

This is the message: The work is done!

Make this declaration:

I do not have to bear my sins one moment longer. I do not have to bear my sickness one moment longer. The work is done!
